Gladius Phantom WA - the Lake Ghost (the Journal "CAPTAIN-CLUB" 02/2009)

Production of boats “walk around”, rather spread at many brands and popular in the market, have mastered and in Russia. Feature of this architecturally-constructive type is formulated in the title “walk around” - “to bypass around” (English) - and means free conveyance round deck house, deckhouses on all perimetre of a boat. Here and we will walk around “Phantom WA” - new model of Petersburg company "GLADIUS" - and we will look, that at them was received.

For the set service conditions (a category "With") in the project the special thrust block is made on safety and reliability. Requirements of strength with a store width of a constructional aluminium alloy (ensures the bottom and a transom of 5 mms, sides of 3 mms), and also a welding top quality. Interest to this model was showed already with production prototype issuance. Now “Phantom WA” has gone to a series.
It appears, the term “walk around” has some values. Among them - “to consider from different directions”, “to consider comprehensively”, that we and have tried to make, and even “the portable tape recorder”: to a radio tape recorder in marine execution by a boat the place too will be. Company Gladius has developed and has presented in the market the novelty - boat Phantom WA which is the classical representative of case Walkaround (the recognised favourite of all fishers). We have asked to tell representatives of company "Gladius" About a boat and process of its creation.
- For whom it was created Gladius Phantom WA?
- The boat first of all is calculated on fishermen. It is ascetic enough, but thus, the convenient and big fishing boat intended for long transitions. - What boat cost?
At present cost of the base complete set including all necessary (the steering, a pomp, navigating fires, upholstered furniture and so forth), makes 650 thousand rbl. For comparison, the same Silver WA costs almost on 200 thousand roubles more expensively. Against an uneasy financial situation, most likely, many will prefer to receive a worthy boat under more reasonable price as our model surpasses a prototype in many indicators.
- You already have buyers on Gladius Phantom WA?
To this model the big interest, and with its start in a batch production was primary, I think, demand only will increase. We already have some buyers though the first samples just now left from factory. After all in such boats sharp shortage in the market and, certainly is felt, it does not remain without attention. We have combined in it optimum characteristics, functionality and all it for rather comprehensible price.
- What technical problems were put at creation Gladius Phantom WA and how they have been realised?
- The cores the problem consisted in creation of the case with good technical characteristics, and also maintenance of the maximum convenience of operation of a boat during its use. This big, volume boat initially was under construction for long independent transitions. Beginning from contours, finishing interior details, in it all is subordinated to the decision of this problem.
Besides, proceeding from conditions of its long operation, we have laid in this boat a special emphasis on safety. At it triple safety factor. - We tried not to depart from classical execution, but there are also nuances. The matter is that now many walkaround do roundish, however such form "eats" a useful area. And if to consider, that the boat bottom is made of aluminium which means some courage the "angular" top here is looked organically enough. Thus the boat looks quite modern as plastic top allows to give to appearance of a boat plasticity and completeness.
- What dimensions Gladius Phantom WA?
- When we created the case, we perfectly understood, that this utilitarian boat - a working horsy. Accordingly, all became from conditions to "win" a maximum of a useful place. As a result the boat has turned out big enough inside: width of a cockpit of 2,02 m. Thus all technical and engineering equipment "near at hand" - in the case is present enough of the technological hatches allowing on a place to correct any malfunction. If there was a problem with hoses or an electricity cable it is possible to get easily access to any system, having opened the corresponding technical hatch.
Including at the expense of it the boat has turned out as much as possible independent. Even for the person who is minimum understands service, at occurrence of any problems it is not required to address for the help in specialised services - all dares on a place for five minutes - full availability and maintainability.
- What would you recommend to get to standard complete set Gladius Phantom WA?
Has traditionally developed, that our company already includes in the standard at once all necessary. I will add only, that unlike other our models Phantom WA it is completed with a powerful pomp (2000 Watt), providing safety in any adverse conditions. Concerning the additional equipment - here everyone decides itself, that it is necessary for it. I would recommend to get to it an awning which goes at us together with targa, providing rigidity. There will be not superfluous heater «Vebasto», all the same it is a boat for serious rest, instead of a walking variant.
